English translation for 1498

[Llanddwyn is a small island off Anglesey associated with Saint Dwynwen, who is the Welsh patron saint of lovers, similar to Saint Valentine.  Her feastday (the Welsh equivalent of St Valentine's Day) is 25 January.]

Llanddwyn Island - we are beside the lighthouse, this big lighthouse (I can't see it all), and here we are looking across the sea to Holyhead.  It's very clear today, and we can see Holyhead Mountain, and perhaps even Ireland - who knows?

There is Saint Dwynwen's cross along the path, and over there is the church that was built here.

Over there we can see the pilots' houses, and these [were] very important people who used to help large ships go round the Menai into Caernarfon.
