ELECTRIC CURRENT EFFECTS

The word electromagnetism is used to describe one of the most important forces in the nature. This force is between subatomic particles such as protons and electrons. It helps to hold matter together.

Electromagnetism is also used to describe how a magnetic field is created by the flowing of electrical current. In this lesson we will be discussing this type of electromagnetism.

When an electric currents flows through a wire, it generates a magnetic field. The magnetic field can be increased if we coil the wire, because this allows to flow more current through  a smaller distance and it increases the magnetic field. This is an important concept in electricity and is the basis for electrical motor.
