CROSSED REFERENCES

In a long text, in order to make the document easier to read, it might be useful to reference other places inside the same document. A crossed reference is a jump to another place in the document, which had been previously tagged or marked as a destination

ACTIVIY

  1. Open your personal template and save it as referencias_cruzadas.odt using File | save as. Remember, after this action, to save the file you must use File | save. Never use File | save as otherwise the versions information will be lost.

  2. Download and open the document Normativa evaluación centres.odt. Copy all the text from it and paste it in your template

  3. Select the title Artículo 1 and mark it as Arte_1.

    • Select the title Artículo 1

    • Select the menu Inserta | Referencia Cruzada…

    • Write the name Arte_1 at the box Nombre and click in Inserta.

    • Repeat the procedure with the rest of titles of articles. Remember you can set several references without closing the window campos. Set the next list of references

      • Artículo 2: Marcador Arte_2.

      • Artículo 3: Marcador Arte_3.

      • Artículo 4: Marcador Arte_4.

      • Artículo 5: Marcador Arte_5.

      • Disposición final: Marcador Final.

  1. When you finish of setting references close the window campos clicking on Cierra.

  2. Save a version of your document using File | version, and later clicking the button save version

  3. Create a 7 columns and 1row table, just under the document title. In the firs cell on the left write Articulado.

    • Select the menu Tabla | Inserta | tabla to insert a table of 7 C olumns: 7 and 1 row

    • Disable the check box encabezamiento.

    • Click in the button de Acuerdo.

  4. Write in the first cell, Articulado.

  5. In the second cell, insert the crossed reference Arte_1:

    • Activate the menu option Insertar | Referencia cruzada…

    • In the box Tipo, select Inserta una referencia.

    • In the box Selección, select Arte_1.

    • Finally, in the box Inserta referencia a, choose referencia.

    • Click in the button Inserta. Notice that in the cell now will appear the text associated to the crossed reference : Artículo 1.

    • Go on inserting the rest of references in the table using the window Campos.

  6. Save a version of your document using File | version, and later clicking the button save version

  7. Once inserted all the references, close the window Campos clicking in the button Cerrar.



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Check out what happens when you click on the text in the cells. The cursor jumps to the referenced article

  2. Le'ts add a reference to move the cursor at the beginning of the document:

    • Change the word Articulado in the first cell by Inicio adding a crossed reference as seen in the step 8.

    • In the line under the paragraph Artículo 1, insert a right tabulation:

      • Select the menu Formato | Párrafo | (pestaña) Tabulador.

      • Set a tabulation type right at the position 15 cm and acept.

    • In the position of the tabulation, insert a crossed reference Inicio.

      • Place the cursor after Artículo 1 and press the tabulation key.

      • Select the menu Insertar | Referencia Cruzada…

      • Select Inserta una referencia In the box Tipo.

      • Select Inicio, in the bloc Selección.

      • In the bloc Formado, selectReferencia.

      • Click in the button Inserta.

    • Repeat the same procedure with rest of articles.
