Replacing fuses

Overloading electrical circuits or appliances is dangerous, so it´s important to know something about fuses.

Before doing anything switch off at the main switch and pull the fuses and check to see which one is faulty. Loosen the screws holding the damaged wire in place and remove it completely.

Always replace with the correct thickness of fuse wire. As the fuse is being repaired, remember if a faulty appliance was responsible disconnect it and don´t use it again until it´s mended.

Overloaded circuits will cause fuses to melt, so be careful. Electric fires are frequent offenders. After tightening the screws remove any whiskers of wire.

Here´s your mended fuse, if it fails again call an electrician.

(Could be a smart idea!-)
