As you have rightly answered, Li and Al pertain to groups 1 and 3 respectively.

In the Periodic Table all of the elements display several trends, which provide chemists with an invaluable tool to quickly predict their chemical, physical, and atomic properties. Analysing the similar atomic structure of the elements within their respective group families does understand these trends. So, if we know the group to which an element belongs to, we can predict its properties.

Therefore, these elements present different properties as they are linked to different families. So, we are going to evaluate which characteristics each element has due to their family trend. So look at those pictures and take notes about the most-interesting features.

Then, we will be able to analyse each element individually. Once you have done it, come back to this unit in order to do the final activity called "To sum up".
