2-hour CLIL Module (THE CELL)

 
The Cell unit has 6 lessons, but now you have to complete the last 2 lessons (2 hours), in order to see what have you learnt about the cell and its organelles. You have to play 1 game and 1 quiz and, the last activity is create your own quiz about the cell.
 
If you need some help take a look at the link "Cell vocabulary" and "Encouraging a conversation" before the game starts, so that you can remember some concepts.
 

Activity 5 (What am I?) -Time 40’ 

What am I? (Guessing game cards with nametags & pictures). The teacher give you the cards and you cut out, then the teacher place the nametags on students forehead, then each person try to figure out which cell organelle they are, only asking Yes or No questions to gain clues about the name that is on their back. The play continues until everyone guesses their organelle or until time runs out.

You have to play the game 2 times the first play with the nametags and the second play with the organelles pictures (20 minutes each).

 

Activity 6 (Kahoot) -Time 20’

Kahoot is a tool for play different types of games in our case whole class plays a quiz about “the cell” and answer 12 questions with their smartphone, tablet or computer. You have to login to the game with the link above.

Kahoot displays a gamepin to join the quiz, then you enter the gamepin and create a username (you have to work with another student, all the class have to work in pairs). You get points for speed and correct questions. It is important the interaction with your peer, if you need some help ask the teacher. Enjoy the game!

 

Activity 7 (create a Kahoot) -Time 60’

After you played a Kahoot, you have to create your own kahoot with your account. For that activity you have to work in groups of 4 and create a quiz of 10 questions with and without pictures. It is important in this activity to collect information, to write correctly and work in group. The teacher gets into account creativity, correctness, use of resources, quality of the questions and interaction with your peers.

6:15 back to them and it kicks them out of

7:14 will see the four choices they'll see

7:18 picture if you put it in there then on
7:20 their screen this is what they see okay
7:23 they can't see the answers so they have
7:25 to look up on your screen choose the
7:27 correct answer and then pick it o is
7:32 incorrect okay now when you have more
7:34 than one student it will automatically
7:36 tell them the answer right away and then
7:38 it says what the correct answer is and
7:41 you can talk through the different
7:43 choices with the kids because it waits
7:45 for you to press next which is handy and
7:49 then the second question Oh final
